AA Motors, Monica

Georgia

Monica is an immigrant entrepreneur with Colombian and Venezuelan roots. Driven by her motivation and curiosity in the business world, in 2020, she embarked on an entrepreneurial journey alongside her husband and created AA MOTORS. Monica recognizes the importance of acquiring a vehicle, considering it one of the crucial decisions after buying a home. This company is not just a place to buy cars; it manifests Monica’s core principles: fairness, honesty, efficiency, and safety.

Starting a business came with challenges, especially during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. However, determined and eager to grow their business, Monica contacted the Latin American Association (LAA) for support. In July 2023, LAA connected Monica to the IRC Atlanta Small Business Program, which provided access to capital for small businesses, along with training and counseling.

Working alongside her Navigator, she significantly improved AA MOTORS’s productivity, efficiency, and overall development through personal, professional, and business growth resources.

Through IRC’s Small Business Program, Monica also learned to apply for government grants. Her dedication and commitment led her to access a $7,500 Gwinnett County Small Business grant in December, which was then invested in her business to cover various needs, including marketing, supplies, and business digitization.

For Monica, every challenge became an adventure, and each adventure was a step towards the success that AA MOTORS enjoys today. She believes in embracing change, cultivating an open mindset, and continually expanding her intellectual horizons as the pillars of her business success.

In Monica’s words, “The size of your mind determines the size of your business, with your mind being your greatest asset.”
